Oh My God, i thought i finally had a comfortable idea on where lost was going. Charles was bad, Ben though not nice was somehow good or at least better than charles. this was further aided by the scene with ben and locke in the orchid when we had the awww moment: 'I'm sorry for making your life such a misery John"
Then this episode shows Charles to be the good guy, something which i now believe to be true. Ok he was a bit of a *enter expletive here* to desmond, maybe that was because he wanted him to go to the island.
So it looks like the oceanic 6 have time jumped, forward i think. And we are to believe that flight 316 crashed on the hydra island. this then explains the boats on the main island, and could possibly mean the return of frank. as he's already taken a boat.
very interesting episode, Viva Locke!

I LOVE LOST!!!
What a great episode!!!
Firstly, Locke is back on the island and seemingly alive which is great (though how this is possible I have no idea!!!!). Does this therefore mean that Christian Shephard is also alive???
Secondly, it was great seeing Walt in this episode!!! I think Locke made the right decisions not telling him that Michael was dead and not inviting him to come to the island. I just hope Walt's special powers will be explained to us!
Matthew Abbadon was as great (and creepy) as ever and I was shocked to see him get killed! I hope we see more of him somehow because he's a great character and it's sad to see him go!
But I guess what I've got to discuss is Widmore and Ben. I too thought Lost will end with Ben actually being a good guy and Widmore being the ultimate bad guy but after this episode my opinion has changed. I think that both men may have told some lies to John but I now trust Charles a lot more than Ben.
I was shocked to see Ben kill Locke. I thought it was moving when he talked Locke out of killing himself and then I was really shocked when he killed him after he mention Eloise Hawkins!
It was also great seeing Locke talk to the O6 and I'm glad he mentioned Christian to Jack.
A really good episode which I thoroughly enjoyed!
9.5/10!!!!

First off, Terry O'Quinn was superb in this episode. I realised how much I actually like Locke, and I was glad he was "resurrected."
Typical guy-ish comment coming, but this Ilana woman is hot! I'm intrigued to see what her story is (Since I assume she, along with Caesar, was introduced to play a reasonably significant role in the overall story).
One thought, the plane landed on Hydra island, which is where the Others were constructing a runway in season 3. Does this mean they knew about Flight 316 and were expecting it? But then this would mean that Locke, Ilana, Frank, etc. were in a post-season 3 timeline (Which would explain why the Hydra was apparently deserted), whereas Jack, Kate and Hurley are presumably back in the days of Dharma. However, since Hurley and co. "disappeared" from the plane, is it possible that those who vanished moved back in time, but everyone else, along with the plane itself, remained in the present? This ties in a little bit better with the canoes and water bottles the left-behinders came across in episode 4, not to mention it was after the beach camp was abandoned, which obviously was not in the same time period as Dharma...
As for the whole Ben vs Widmore war, this episode kind of blew the issue wide open. Up until now, we've only really seen Ben's side of the argument, but now we have a small insight into Widmore's side of things. There's no denying that Widmore seems to be just as dishonest and manipulating as Ben is, but it's hard to say which one of them is really the "good guy" (If either of them are, that is).
I was sad to hear that Helen had died. I wasn't paying too much attention to the opening credits, so I didn't know if Katey Sagal would be making an appearance or not. I suppose it is possible that her death is just a cover-up by Widmore and she is in fact alive and well...Perhaps so Locke doesn't get distracted from his mission and/or decides he wants to stay in the real world with her instead of going back to the island? Either way, we probably won't see her again, unfortunately.
One person I fell confident we will be seeing again, however, is Walt. If this was supposed to serve as the end of Walt's story, they'd have made him appear to be living a perfectly normal life. The fact they included his dreams of Locke suggests to me that we'll be seeing more of him. Also, his age/height is no longer an issue, so there's nothing to stop him returning to the island and running around with Vincent again. I don't think Locke saying "He's been through enough" fully constitutes the island being finshed with Walt, I think he'll be drawn back despite Locke's (noble) decision.
Was great to see Sayid taking a break from his bad-ass assassin persona and doing something good and constructive with his time. I suppose it's only when news of Locke's death reaches him that he decides to get the hair straighteners out again and go and spring Hurley...

I can just picture Frank trying to hold the plane steady as turbulence throws everything not bolted down across the cockpit: "Oh, my God! Holy s**t, we're going down! BRACE YOURSELVES!!! Wait a minute...Is that a runway?" *Textbook landing*

The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham showed why Terry O'Quinn received an Emmy a couple of years ago: the man is effin amazing!
John's adventure was moving. Trying to get these people back knowing that it needs to happen, but in typical Locke fashion not knowing how- leading him to be told more than once that he's just a lonely old man.
the Jack/Locke scene was absolutely brilliant! added to the list of classics that they've had. those two just make for great tv.
Christian Shephard was the turning point that convinced Jack...
..speaking of Christian, was he "supposed to" go back too?? was his situation similar to Locke?? just putting it out there
as for the Ben vs. Widmore war, i have no idea who's side to take...im unconvinced either way & for now & just gonna say that they're both bad...
most puzzling line was when Ben told Locke: "I'm gonna miss you John. I really am" ..did he not know that Locke would be resurected?? & if he did, why did he say that?? there wasn't anyone around to lie & put on an act for.....

Sawbucks I like your theory on the hydra island being in a different period of time to the main island! A very intirguing idea!

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 9, "NAMASTE"!!!
OK, so it wasn't exactly a textbook landing (I doubt any textbook in the world would consider getting your co-pilot impaled on a tree a "successful landing"), but it's still kind of creepy that this is similar to how the "crash" actually happened...

It's probably one of the only things to date that I've (partially) predicted correctly with Lost...
